SonyLIV is getting the gang back together for another Scam. The Indian streamer has ordered a third series in the crime drama franchise, titled Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, with Applause Entertainment and director Hansal Mehta returning to make the show in association with Sony’s Studio Next.

According to Sony LIV, Scam 2010 is the “the dust-to-diamonds story of maverick businessman Subrata Roy, and is based on the book ‘Sahara: the Untold Story’ by Tamal Bandyopadhyay on one of India’s most notorious financial scales. “In the early 2000s, the glamourous Roy was caught in a whirlwind of accusations ranging from chit-fund manipulations to fake investors, ultimately leading to his arrest in 2014,” press materials added.

With approximately 25,000 crore rupees still lying unclaimed with government authorities, the repercussions of the scam continue to reverberate even today.” No word on casting just yet, but a teaser trailer said the show was “streaming soon.” The two previous editions, Scam 2003: The Telgi Story and Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, are among Sony LIV’s most-well known series, propelling film director Mehta into the streaming series game.

The 2003 series followed Abdul Karim Telgi’s rise in the counterfeit world, while Scam 1992 explored how Harshad Mehta rose and fell in the stock market.
