David Marshall has pleaded with Hibs and Hearts fans to cut out the missile mayhem before the Edinburgh derby suffers an away fan lockout like the Old Firm.The Easter Road keeper was caught in the line of fire as objects including lighters and a bottle opener were lobbed from the Hibees end towards Lawrence Shankland as the Jambos skipper waited to take a first half penalty on Wednesday.
Hibs playmaker Emiliano Marcondes was also targeted by home supporters as he waited to take a corner.The clubs are working together to identify those responsible.
But Marshall fears the culprits not only crossed the line but are jeopardising one of the best atmospheres in Scottish football.
He said: “Some of the stuff thrown on could cause serious injury. It soured the fact that it was such a good atmosphere. The players love playing in it.
