Rodgers will be unveiled tomorrow after returning to replace Ange Postecoglou, who quit Parkhead after winning the treble to join Spurs.
The pair helped Japan to a 4-1 win over Peru in a friendly, with Maeda scoring and will now get a well-earned break.And both were asked to comment on the managerial situation at their club after the game with Furuhashi linked with a big-money move south to join up with his old boss at Tottenham Hotspur.
He said: "My ambition this season was to win all three trophies and win the Player of the Year and I have managed that. I was able to do that because I had a lot of support from my teammates. "But right now, I want to have a long rest and think about things after that.
