A Scots baby died of a rare disease days after doctors diagnosed him with a viral infection and sent him home from hospital.Six-month-old Jaime Donnelly appeared to “perk up”, but passed away after an aneurysm burst in his heart.His devastated mum Heather Hinshelwood said her “world turned upside down” following the tragedy in September 2017.She told Glasgow Live: “Nothing can compare to losing a child, it was the worst time.
You never get over the pain of losing a child. It was a horrendous time and so unexpected.”Heather took part in an event in her home town of Hamilton last night organised by the charity Society to raise awareness of Kawasaki Disease, the condition that killed little Jaime.The Town House on Cadzow Street was lit up along with other landmarks around the UK including Blackpool Tower, while supporters wore the colour red to mark International Kawasaki Awareness Day.The condition is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in under-fives.Heather, who also has sons Josh, 15 and Jack, 22, told Glasgow Live: “You just think it’s a virus and he will get better.
