Scots Antiques Roadshow crowd gasp over true value of mirror created in Glasgow

Sunday's episode of the Antique's Roadshow left viewers and guests at the event stunned when an item with a lot of Scottish history was valued and found to be worth "a lot more" than anticipated.

The recent instalment of the popular BBC show was filmed at Glasgow's Pollok Park and it featured a mirror worth more than a bob or two, thanks to its links to the city's prestigious art school.

The guest who had brought the piece in to be looked at was left shocked when its true worth was revealed. She admitted she "wouldn't have guessed' the amount, as shocked onlookers could be heard gasping when it was announced.

As the woman and her daughter introduced the brass mirror to expert Will Farmer to examine, he seemed overjoyed with the find.Will was quick to praise the work that had gone into creating the mirror, as he learned of its backstory and its family link to the current "custodian" of it.Will explained that the mirror was created at the Glasgow School of Art circa 1929, adding that it was quite late for such a design.
