Scotland fans descend on Glasgow fanzones to take in Germany clash

Scotland fans began the celebrations early as they geared up for a big night ahead at the start of Euro 2024.They might not have been in Southern Germany, but the Tartan fans embraced the spirit of celebration by drinking and singing famous Scots anthems and toasting the National Team even before they battled it out on the pitch.Bars, and pubs were filled to the brim with Scotland fans who were making the most of the party atmosphere.In Merchant Square where the venue has secured a special license for extra seating during the duration of the Euros, the atmosphere was buzzing long before the Scots squad even took to the pitch.Tens of thousands of pints of lager were ordered by businesses in the square ahead of the fiesta and by 4.30pm punters were being turned away from the door as it was full to capacity.Over at BAaD VIP legend Alan McInally was being interviewed by David Tanner as fans dressed in kilts and Scotland flags made their way into the indoor and outside areas to watch the game on screens.Meantime in Merchant City, as Caledonia and Scotland the Brave were chanted in the background, alongside Super John McGinn and other beloved anthems, David Selwyn and pals lapped it all up after making the trip to Glasgow centre from Ayr to watch the game with the Tartan Army.David said: “We’re hoping for a win but what makes the Tartan Army special is just the party you get for the whole day.

It’s phenomenal. We came here at one ish just to make sure we could get in the queue and we’re spending the day with cousins and friends.
