Scot goes on trial accused of murdering wheelchair bound wife in US
dailyrecord.co.ukThe murder trial of a Scot accused of shooting his wheelchair-bound wife in the US will begin today. Wayne Fraser, 47, of Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire, is said to have shot Natalie Ryan-Fraser, 55, with a handgun in the Mississippi town of Caledonia.
Police discovered her body during a welfare check at an apartment in the town's Cedar Street where he was staying on December 30, 2021.Deputies recovered a 9mm handgun from the scene and Fraser was later charged with first-degree murder.
He is being represented by a public defender lawyer.WCBI reports that the jury is being selected in the case against the Scot, who had a job in the area and lived there part-time.
It's understood that testimony could begin in the case today.Court documents state he is accused of feloniously, wilfully and unlawfully with deliberate design to effect the death of Natalie Fraser, a human being, kill Natalie Fraser, without the authority of law and not in necessary self-defence".Fraser was detained following his arrest and has been held on remand at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center since.
