A schoolgirl died weeks after she fell ill with suspected heatstroke. When Ella-Grace Holman began feeling unwell about five weeks ago, her family put it down to her having overheated.

However, after the nine-year-old's school contacted mum Amy to pick her daughter up, she was rushed to hospital. Ella, from Warrington, had complained of numbness to her face so scans were carried out, which revealed she had a brain tumour.

She underwent an eight-and-a-half hour operation at Alder Hey Children's Hospital to remove the tumour, which tests showed was cancerous.
