Ella-Grace Holman, nine, started to feel unwell around five weeks ago and her family thought she could have the temperature-related illness. However, her condition worsened one day at school and staff contacted mum Amy to pick her up before she was taken to hospital.
After complaining of numbness to her face, scans were carried out and she was eventually told she had a brain tumour. Ella, from Warrington, underwent an eight and a half hour operation to remove the tumour, which tests soon showed was cancerous.
Despite everything she faced, young Ella bravely fought whatever came her way with a smile on her face. She was looking to start chemotherapy and radiotherapy for 18 months - but then she started to lose a lot of weight and needed to have a peg inserted.
Unfortunately, things then quickly deteriorated when the youngster began to experience slurred speech and involuntary limb movements.
