Road closed for at least four days after 'complex' gas leak

A Tameside road has been closed in both directions following a 'complex' emergency gas leak. Ashworth Lane in Mottram is shut to traffic both ways between Back Lane and Day Grove, with Tameside Highways warning closures could be in place for 'at least another 4 days'.

Drivers are being warned to avoid the area and check the council website for updates. "The closure is expected to be in place for at least another 4 days.

This is a complex gas leak which may require additional time, we will keep our page updated." Tameside Council have been contacted for comment.
