Thousands of people have paid tribute to popular train station cat Felix who was known across the north by commuters and rail passengers.
The 12-year-old moggy, who had spent the majority of her life serving as ‘senior pest controller’ at Huddersfield Station, died on Sunday after the discovery of a terminal illness.
Felix, who had her own Facebook page with 170,000 followers, found global fame in 2015 when commuter Alan Hind encountered the friendly feline during his daily travels between Huddersfield and Manchester. Angie Hunte, Huddersfield Station Manager for TransPennine Express, said: “Felix was more than a cat; she was a beloved member of our station family and left her paw prints on many commuters’ hearts as they passed through the station. “Her presence brought smiles to visitors from around the world, making Huddersfield Station a special place.
