A man who plotted to be sent back to prison entered a town hall armed with a pair of scissors and demanded 'give me all the money' in his bid to get back behind bars.

Serial robber David McCrimmon threatened the receptionist at Bootle Town Hall in Merseyside in October last year, telling her he 'wasn't f***ing moving' and reported he had slept rough the night before.

He was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday (January 2) where he moaned that his sentencing was 'taking too long'. The 48-year-old said he had "done it because he wanted to go back to jail" as he was taken from the scene to custody, reports the Liverpool Echo.
