Residents evacuated from Manchester flats two months ago are STILL homeless

Two months have now passed since hundreds of people were kicked out of their city centre homes due to fire safety concerns. Bracken House, on Charles Street, was evacuated on December 22 because ‘major work is required to the building, including replacing the external cladding and carrying out work inside the building’, according to the Fire Service.

Today, February 23, they are still without proper homes. In the interim, residents have been staying in hotels or serviced apartments, paid for by building managers IPM, which has also forked out for meals.
