Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

nypost.comThe Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor–the Truth and the Turmoil,” revealed that the dress, which the late Princess of Wales wore in front of a TV audience of millions in 1985, was made by a woman who once competed with Parker Bowles, 72, for the then-Prince Charles’ heart.According to Brown, 69, Dale “Kanga” Tryon, an Australian designer who met Charles at the age of 17 when they both attended Geelong Grammar School, became close to the future King after moving to London. “After moving to London and marrying Lord Tryon, she became a trusted confidante,” Brown wrote in her book. “Dale’s directness, warmth and talent at country entertaining were just the sort of qualities that Charles admired in Camilla.”Brown added that Camilla was not happy that Charles once allegedly said that Tryon was “the only woman who ever understood me.”Tryon, at one point, later created a range of dresses known as the Kanga line and was then able to supply Princess Diana with the dress to infuriate Parker Bowles when the princess wore the off-brand dress for the 1985 Live Aid concert. “Princess Diana wore one of her deeply off-brand, multi-patterned dresses…just to make Camilla insane,” Brown noted.Whether or not the petty princess succeeded in her mission is unknown.
However, Brown did report that Parker Bowles’ disposition toward Tryon turned even colder following Diana’s stunt. “All this stuff about Lady Tryon being such a friend of Lady Diana..She’s never even met Diana Spencer,” Parker Bowles later told Brown in an interview.
Sadly, Tryon’s love for Charles remained unrequited since he began falling in love with Parker Bowles as his marriage to Diana began to unravel.
