Police were called to investigate 'suspicious circumstances' after a car was found submerged in the water at Dovestone Reservoir.
The car was found in the water at the popular beauty spot at around 8.30pm last night (Sunday). Police, fire crews and paramedics, along with technical rescue and water incident units were called to the scene near Holmfirth Road.
Search teams were deployed to ensure that there was nobody inside or in danger before the vehicle was recovered. In an update issued today, police said anyone who was in the car had left the scene. Enquiries into the incident are now ongoing. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 8.30pm on Sunday 18 June 2023, officers were called to reports of suspicious circumstances after a car was found submerged in the Dovestones Reservoir.
