Police 'extremely worried' about missing teenage girl not seen for over 24 hours

Police have issued an urgent appeal to trace a missing teenager not seen for more than 24 hours. Sophie Scawthorn, from Wrightington, went missing from her home between Mossy Lea and Wrightington Bar at around 7pm on Saturday (April 15).

Her family have not heard from her since, with Lancashire Police saying they are now 'extremely worried' about her. The 15-year-old has links to Eccleston and Heskin and may try to use Wigan Bus Station.

Sophie is described as being of slim build and around 5ft 5ins tall, with dark brown shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a black zip up hooded top, black leggings, black trainers and was carrying a pink handbag. The appeal read: "Have you seen Sophie Scawthorn, 15, from Wrightington? She was last seen at her home address between Mossy Lea and Wrightington Bar at around 7pm yesterday (Saturday). "She has not been heard from since and we are extremely worried about her.
