Police have asked parents if they 'know where their children are' after a number of fires were started by children as young as 10 years old.

Greater Manchester Police are investigating at least 24 different fires, thought to have been started deliberately in the Smithills area of Bolton in recent weeks.

The latest blaze was at Moss Bank Park at 8.30pm on August 9, but others have been started in nearby Doffcocker Lodge and Captain Clough.

Witnesses described young boys involved, aged around 12 and 13 years old, with one possibly as young as ten, police said. READ MORE Major hunt continues to find gunman after two left injured in Moss Side shooting One of the children is described as wearing shorts and a dark blue football shirt.
