Police have issued an appeal for information to help identify a person who they want to speak to as part of their enquiries into the damage of a police vehicle.
Officers received three reports of vandalism to a police vehicle within a period of 24 hours earlier this week. It has led to two vehicles being taken off the road as they are repaired.
The first incident occurred at 5.30pm on Bury Road in Bolton on Monday (July 17). As a police vehicle was driving through slow moving traffic, the officer behind the wheel became aware of two males on electric bikes, driving close and gesticulating towards the vehicle. One of them then came up on the outside of the van and punched the wing mirror, causing damage, before riding off.
A second incident took place at 9.30pm at the Folds Road junction of Bury New Road. A man was seen approaching a stationary police vehicle before throwing a brick through the window.
