Officers are appealing for information from the public after two cars were deliberately set alight in Stevenston. The incidents happened around 2.30am on Saturday, July 22 in George Street and Arthur Street.Emergency services attended and both fires were extinguished.
There were no injuries as a result of the fires.Although the cars were set on fire on different streets, the incidents are being treated as linked.Detective Constable John Cuthbert said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time of these fires to please speak with us."Fortunately, there were no injuries on this occasion, and extensive enquiries remain ongoing to trace those responsible for these reckless acts.“Any drivers in the area at the time who use a dashcam, or any locals who may have home CCTV or doorbell footage, are asked to make contact if it could help with our investigation.”Any information can be passed to Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident numbers 0471 and 0448 of Saturday, 22 July, 2023.
