Pep Guardiola reminded his Manchester City players why they are World Champions at half-time against Everton, in a team talk that sparked their second-half comeback to return to winning ways.
City had won just one in their last six Premier League games heading to Everton, but won two out of two last week to win the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia to return to league action in high spirits.
In the first half at Goodison Park, it was a performance that felt like it would follow the pattern of the recent league form, but a second-half fightback proved to be too much for Everton, with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva on target.
Foden was brilliant as City turned defeat into attack, and revealed after the match that Guardiola told them to believe at the break, pointing to the new Club World Cup winners' badge on their shirts as a source of inspiration.
