'Armed police' have descended onto a suburb after receiving reports that a gun had been fired inside a flat.Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to the address on Yew Tree Road in Halewood, Merseyside, at 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 23.Officers attended and found damage to a wall inside a property.There were no reported injuries.Eyewitnesses told our sister title, the Liverpool Echo, that there had been a huge police presence in the area.One local said they saw "armed police around Camberley Drive, Arncliffe Road and Okell Drive plus the helicopter doing laps".They also said that they saw officers combing the grounds of the Arncliffe Court Nursing Home as residents were "told to stay inside".Images show a block of flats taped off by Merseyside Police as one cop vehicle remained at the scene.
