A paralysed dog has made a "miracle recovery" from a crippling health condition after his owner feared her pet would need to be put down.Champ, a five-year-old Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise mix, was left unable to move after a health battle.
His owner, Simone Sloan, from Milngavie in East Dunbartonshire, was quoted £3,500 for an MRI scan and £4,500 for life-saving surgery for her pooch who helped her while she grieved the loss of her husband.
The 44-year-old previously spoke of Champ's condition to Glasgow Live. She said: "His legs are paralysed at the back so he just drags them but he has managed to stand on all four paws for 20 seconds before he sits.
The problem is he can’t go outside and do a toilet because his legs aren’t working properly so he’s just been in the house on puppy pads."Since then, Champ has made a remarkable recovery over the last five months thanks to the Gatehouse Veterinary Rehabilitation centre on Rouken Glen Road, Thornliebank.
