‘Pachinko’ creator gives update on third season and how long the show can continue

Pachinko creator Soo Hugh has given an update on the chances of a third season of the show.The last episode of the second series of the adaptation of Min Jin Lee’s best-selling novel, recently aired on Apple TV+.It examines the enduring impact of the Japanese occupation of Korea on four generations of a Korean family.In a four star review, NME said of the second season: “Series creator Soo Hugh has once again adapted Lee’s material with grace and emotional sensitivity, making the second season as unmissable as its predecessor.“By its end, it feels as if Sun-ja’s family has always been with you, immersing you so delicately but fully into their worlds.”Now in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh has spoken about the chances of a third season.When asked where she is currently in terms of renewal talks, she said: “This is really, now, one of those things that’s so out of my hands, and I think Apple’s also waiting to see how the show does.

I think we’re really trying to fight for a third season – and it really comes down to viewership.”In terms of the longevity of the show, Hugh said is she is keen to make at least four seasons.She added: “In some ways, it feels like there’s a version where one or two more seasons does feel like the right way to end this.

People can’t live forever. At some point, life happens, time passes and people pass, but it does feel like there’s another season or two to eke out.”.
