Outlander stars pay tribute to Sinead O’Connor after she played huge part in show

Tributes have poured in for Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O'Connor, who died on Wednesday. The Irish singer-songwriter was the most recent person to sing the iconic theme song 'The Skye Boat Song ' as the show entered its penultimate season.The late singer was chosen to sing then Outlander track as Starz bosses believed she 'embodied the spirit' of the series, and now the cast have paid tribute to the music legend, who was propelled to international stardom in 1990 with her version of the hit ballad Nothing Compares 2 U.Caitriona Balfe - who plays Claire Fraser in the time-travelling drama - thanked the singer for sharing her soul, she penned the following tribute: "I hope you are at peace … and with your baby boy.

John Bell, who plays Young Ian in the show, simply re-shared Outlander's executive producer Maril Davis's post to his Instagram story, the original post said: "On behalf of the entire cast and crew of Outlander we are deeply saddened about the news of Sinead’s passing.

She was an incredible talent and working with her on this season’s main title song was a true honor.
