Outlander fans were “in tears” after the latest episode as producers paid their respects to the late Sinead O'Connor in the end credits.

The Irish singer-songwriter was the most recent person to sing the iconic theme song 'The Skye Boat Song' for season seven of the show.

Every season of the smash-hit show set in Scotland sees a new version of The Skye Boat Song recorded and it had typically featured Raya Yarbrough's vocals.

For season seven, executive producer Maril Davis wanted to try something new and contacted Sinead after being connected by composer Bear McCreary.
