Lauren Hemp says it is "only a matter of time" before Manchester City start winning trophies despite losing out to Chelsea in this season's title race.
Gareth Taylor's side enjoyed a record-breaking 2023/24, winning 14 games in a row between November and May, however they ultimately finished behind the Londoners on goal difference.
It means the Blues have not won the Women's Super League (WSL) title since 2016 and have not won a trophy since they lifted the Continental League Cup in 2022.
But Hemp, who joined the club in 2018, believes City are getting closer to winning one of the game's top honours and says the disappointment of this season will only serve to make them more determined going forward. "We had a great season I thought,” she told the Manchester Evening News and a handful of other publications during a sit-down interview at St George's Park this week.
