New family friendly bistro and cafe to open on the grounds of historic Ayrshire estate

A new cafe offering is coming to the Auchincruive Estate.The Clock Tower Bistro /Café Bar, on the estate’s Gibbs Yard, will soon open its doors to the public, boasting good quality “fresh local food.”The plans for the cafe bar did have a planning hurdle to clear with South Ayrshire Council, as they required a change of use and alterations to a former office space.However, the proposals were given the green light and the plan now is to create a new ‘family friendly bistro.’There will be nine staff employed in total including three chefs (one full-time, two part-time), a kitchen porter and five waiting staff.The cafe will be open for breakfast, lunch from 12 noon, evening and Sunday grill menu will be available too.Opening hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 12am, Saturday 8am to 12am and Sunday 8am to 12am.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now on iOS and Android.Alcohol is also expected to be available at the new venture.The applicant was Jim Kirkwood, of Allanvale Land and Investments Ltd and the agents in the proposal were Glen Etive Projects.The building was once owned by the SRUC (Scotland's Rural College) before it was acquired by Allanvale Land and Investments Ltd.
