Ex BBC Breakfast host makes emotional return to show and confesses she ‘misses’ the sofa

A FORMER BBC Breakfast presenter made an unexpected cameo on today's episode. Much-loved host Louise Minchin, 54, quit BBC Breakfast in September 2021 after 20 years in her role.

In June 2021 the broadcaster, 52, revealed she was leaving the daily show. Yet she made an unexpected comeback on Saturday's BBC Breakfast during a discussion about a charity fundraiser in Edinburgh.

Olympic medal-winning rower Katherine Grainger was interviewed on a live link to Edinburgh by presenters Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty about the Doddie Aid rowing challenge, in aid of former rugby player Doddie Weir.

The Scotland and British Lions star sadly died from motor neurone disease late last year, aged 52. As she explained the charity event, a giggling Louise popped on screen and then scooted away.
