Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Washington, D.C., needs to get set for a Monumental overhaul of its TV-sports traditions. In September, fans who once flocked to NBC Sports Washington will find they’ve landed at a new venue.

Monumental Sports Network will soon serve as the area home of the NHL’s Washington Capitals, the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, the G League’s Capital City Go-Go and the NBA 2K League’s Wizards District Gaming.

All the properties are held by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, a company led by former AOL executive Ted Leonsis. The company bought NBCUniversal’s 67% stake in the business last year, and will spend a chunk of 2023 putting its own stamp on operations. “We think the value of our local rights is sacred,” says Zach Leonsis.

Bullets flew, and moonshine was consumed. Still, Givens always made time for a philosophical and deep conversation with his prey before the final showdown. Raylan would learn something humanizing about his nemesis’ motivation and, inevitably, realize he himself could be a dick on occasion. These talks often featured Boyd Crowder, Givens’ frenemy played by Walton Goggins with a mouthful of Biden-white teeth, a shock of black hair and buckets of country wisdom. They were so humanizing that you often forgot Boyd was a white supremacist turned drug dealer.

Dixon, told Variety. He was 95. Koenig was an American author and screenwriter whose novel was adapted into the 1976 Jodie Foster-led horror movie “The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane.”  He was born on Sept. 14, 1927, in Seattle, and would go on to attend the University of Washington. A New York judge has denied a motion to dismiss a copyright suit against the producers of a successor program to the once-popular series “Live PD,” ruling that A+E Networks, the show’s original distributor, may continue in its quest to seek claims of copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and unfair competition against the Reelz cable network’s show, “On Patrol: Live.” “A wise man once observed, ‘If you can’t imitate him, don’t copy him,”” wrote Katharine Polk Failla, a judge hearing the case in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of New York. “The fine line between permissible imitation and wholesale duplication is at the heart of this lawsuit.”

NBCU Leans More Heavily on ‘SNL’ for Ad Dollars

Fresh episodes of “Saturday Night Live” have been in short supply in the U.S. due to the Hollywood writers strike, but NBC’s late-night mainstay could generate some interest on Wednesday at the Cannes Lions advertising festival. In a showcase led by NBC News’ Willie Geist, “SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels will hold forth with cast members Bowen Yang, Chloe Fineman, Mikey Day and Ego Nwodim as part of a broader bid by NBCUniversal to get Madison Avenue to align itself with the program at it nears its 50th season in the fall of 2024.
