A new mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer as doctors spotted her symptoms whilst she gave birth. Lois Walker, 37, suffered from stomach pain for 12 months which she claims were previously dismissed by doctors as "hypochondria".

It was only when her son Ray was born by a caesarean section in September 2021 that she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, after surgeons found cancer in her ovaries, the lining of her abdomen and lymph nodes.

The mum-of-three first became unwell in June 2020 when she experienced strange bathroom habits and swelling around her diaphragm.

She claims to have made 20 calls to her GP during lockdown and made numerous trips to A&E, only to be given anxiety meds and told to stay away from dairy.
