Jeff Bridges Says He's 'Feeling Good' After His Battles with Cancer & COVID-19

Jeff Bridges is getting candid about his health. In a new interview with ET, the 72-year-old discussed his battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which he was diagnosed with in October 2020, as well as his more recent bout with COVID-19. Click inside to read more… When asked how he was doing, Jeff told the outlet he was “feeling good” and shared that it was his experience with COVID that really “wiped” him out. “Cancer-wise, yeah remission, and COVID, you know, that made my cancer look like nothing, that COVID,” he shared. “I did my chemo for the cancer and that stripped me of all my immune system, so then I got COVID on top of that, and it wiped me out.” Between his cancer treatment and the pandemic, it took three years for Jeff to get his new show, The Old Man, made.

Based on the novel by Thomas Perry, the FX series was originally set to debut in 2021. “Oh man, that all seems like a bizarre dream, you know,” he explained. “We started The Old Man three years ago.

Had two years off, and then come back into it, and and it’s like we had a long weekend and I, you know, had this bizarre dream.” Jeff also praised the cast and crew behind The Old Man, crediting their efforts to help get the show made. “What a great group of, you know, not only the cast but just right, starting with John Steinberg, the writer, and Lauren Littlefield.
