Morrisons has announced a significant change to rules regarding its afternoon shopping hours at all of its supermarkets. Shoppers walking the aisles during the afternoon will now notice a calming silence, as the retailer expands its quiet hours initiative.

This initiative helps people who might otherwise struggle in a supermarket environment by reducing noise levels and other stimuli.

Currently, the supermarket operates these quiet hours from 9am to 10am on Saturdays, and during the first hour of trading on Sundays.

Now, this will be extended across their more than 1700 stores in the UK to also incorporate the period of 2pm to 3pm, Monday to Thursday.
