Manchester United stalwart centre-back Millie Turner has been invited to join Sarina Wiegman’s squad in the December international break.
It is the first time Turner has had a senior call-up, but she was part of the youth system through to the under 23’s squad. Now, at 27 years old, Turner gets another stab on the international stage stepping in for Millie Bright who is struggling with an ongoing knee injury.
Turner has featured in all Women’s Super League games this 2023/24 campaign, with a goal and an assist under her belt within only seven games for the Reds.
But she is a name that most fans will know since joining in 2018 and being a major part of the squad since day dot. Last season she saw action in all 22 top-tier games helping Maya Le Tissier bed in in the back-line while also navigating her return from a neck-artery issue which left her out of action indefinitely through the latter part of the 2021-22 campaign Now back fit and flying under Marc Skinner, Turner joins fellow club teammates Mary Earps, Ella Toone, Katie Zelem and Le Tissier in what will be her inaugural senior international camp.
