Mikael Mandron was relieved to help his new Buddies right some wrongs as St Mirren got their League Cup campaign firmly back on track.
The towering forward bagged his first Saints goal on Saturday in a comprehensive 4-0 win against Arbroath which helped lift the mood in Paisley after a shock 1-0 opening day defeat to Montrose.
Mandron was delighted to open his account for his new side but felt he could have bagged the match ball on another day.And the 28-year-old insists he and his St Mirren team-mates will be fully focused on the tough task at hand tonight when they travel to Fife to face Cowdenbeath looking to avoid slipping on another banana skin.
Mandron told the Paisley Daily Express: “I was thinking before the game, the last time I played Arbroath I scored, so I hoped I could do it again. “I only scored one but I was obviously very happy.
