Mhairi Black has refused to rule out standing for the Scottish Parliament after she steps down from Westminster.The SNP's deputy Westminster leader said she was not "closing herself off to anything" but her plans are to "breathe for a moment and figure out what I want to do".She was speaking at an In Conversation event at the Stand New Town Theatre in Edinburgh with journalist Graham Spiers.Black announced last month that she will be standing down as an MP at the next general election.This came just eight months after she became the Westminster group's deputy leader.When asked if she planned a tilt at Holyrood, Black said: “I’m not closing myself off to anything but once I stop at Westminster I think my initial plan is just to breathe for a moment and figure out what I want to do and see what opportunities lie in front of me.“So we’ll see, we’ll see.”Black was the UK's youngest MP for hundreds of years when she was elected in 2015 as a 20-year-old.She defeated Labour shadow foreign secretary Douglas Alexander in Paisley and Renfrewshire South in a shock victory.Black said her vote would be “up for grabs” if Scotland becomes independent, adding that Labour and the Tories had the most to gainShe said: “If anything the political party that’s got the most to lose from independence is the SNP because it’s arguably served its purpose.“You’ve got folk like me openly saying, they want independence, my vote’s up for grabs.”Asked if the SNP had been in power too long after 16 years, Black hesitated, hummed and sighed before saying: “I’m going to say no, predictably.“I totally appreciate the sort of sentiment with that [question].
