From Digestives to Egg McMuffins, there’s very little in this world Jack Spencer can’t turn into sunglasses. The 36-year-old inventor has become extremely popular gaining millions of views on social media for showing how he makes sustainable eyewear - as well as turning the occasional biscuit into a pair of decent sunnies.

Having studied product design in university, Jack knew he wanted to turn his peculiar passion for glasses frames into a unique and creative business opportunity.

Not only is the process in which Jack makes the sunglasses quite unique, he uses hardened denim (denim fabric infused with resin) to craft the chic glasses. From creating prototypes on his kitchen table to owning his own space where he produces 15 handmade frames a week, Jack, who lives in Cornwall, set up shop in 2017 and has been expanding his small business Mosevic ever since. “When I graduated from Falmouth University, where I studied product design, I always knew I wanted to start my own business and for some reason, eyewear has always been a weird interest of mine. “I wanted to make something unique and I decided the way to do that would be to use unusual material so after a lot of thought I decided on hardened denim - which is what makes my glasses different from others.

Jack began sharing behind the scene videos and creating content surrounding the interesting and long process of hand making sunglasses, and has since amassed more than 206k followers on TikTok and 144k on Instagram. “I found that sharing the process of how I make these frames online was something that people had responded to really well, so I’ve just done it more and more.
