Matthew Rhys Fesses Up to Prank on Set of 'The Americans' at 10th Anniversary Celebration

The co-stars and real-life couple were joined by castmate Noah Emmerich, creator Joe Weisberg and writer Joel Fields.
During the event, Matthew owned up to a prank that he pulled while on set that almost caused some problems. Keep reading to find out more… During a panel, Joel explained what happened. “Joe [Weisberg] and I walked in [the writers' room] one day and someone had on Matthew and Keri‘s pictures – they’d been defaced,” he recalled, according to Entertainment Weekly. “There’s a devil on Matthew and a funny mustache on Keri.” He continued, saying, “And we called the assistants in and we called the staff in and we go, ‘Guys, it’s all good to have fun it’s fine, but this is a professional and respectful place to work and we really need to know who did this?’ And one of the assistants finally goes, ‘It’s Matthew.’” Matthew admits that he was the one behind the prank, explaining that it happened after a “boozy lunch.” “I was like, ‘new disguise options,’” he joked.
