Martin Lewis has 'real question' for Labour and Conservatives after ITV debate

Whoever wins the general election, with record numbers of people on the NHS waiting lists, a broken social care system, and stubbornly high energy bills, the next Prime Minister is going to have to make some "tough" choices if they are to fix the problems facing Britain.

But at ITV's first televised debate of the general election, Martin Lewis did not think "the real question" had been answered.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour's Sir Keir Starmer clashed repeatedly during the hour-long debate, with claims and counter-claims over the other's tax and spending plans, with few specifics on how they would fix these issues for millions of Brits.

While the Prime Minister defended calling the Labour leader, former head of the Crown Prosecution Service, a threat to national security, the Money Saving Expert founder pointed out that the issues facing renters, students, and household energy bills had been missed.
