Manchester Airport police footage showed 'complete abuse of power', says MP

MPs are continuing to speak out after footage emerged of a Greater Manchester Police officer kicking a man in the head at Manchester Airport - with one saying the clip showed a 'complete abuse of power'.

The clip went viral on social media yesterday after the incident inside Terminal 2 on Tuesday. It appeared to show a GMP officer kicking and stamping on the head of a man who was lying face down on the floor, with a woman kneeling beside him.

Today (Thursday) MPs raised concerns over the footage in the Commons. Lucy Powell, the MP for Manchester Central, described the video as 'truly shocking'. Speaking in the Commons today, the Independent MP said: "I’ve been inundated with messages of concern and upset from my constituents following the horrific images that have come from Manchester Airport. "I myself I’m deeply concerned with what can only be described as a complete abuse of power.
