A man has been convicted of racially abusing ex-Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand whilst he was working as a pundit during one of his former club's matches.

Jamie Arnold, 33, hurled racist remarks and hand gestures at the former England defender during the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and United at Molineux on May 23,.

He was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence, which he denied. However, he was today (Wednesday) unanimously convicted following a two-day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court and will be sentenced on December 8, West Midlands Police said.
