Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has warned Sir Jim Ratcliffe that the poaching of Omar Berrada won't affect his club as they continue to go from 'strength to strength'.

Manchester United pulled off a coup earlier this year when it was announced Berrada would quit his role as City’s chief football operations officer to take over as chief executive at United this summer.

Khaldoon, however, is confident that the the 'machine' behind the scenes at the Etihad can continue to make City the biggest force in English football despite United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's assertion that he wants to end their dominance. “We have a lot to learn from our noisy neighbour and the other neighbour [Liverpool],” Ratcliffe said after his arrival at United was announced. “They are the enemy at the end of the day.

There is nothing I would like better than to knock both of them off their perch. “But they have been in a good place for a while and there are things we can learn from both of them.
