MAFS UK's Brad Skelly: 'I've been portrayed as an absolute villain'

Married At First Sight UK star Brad Skelly has accused TV producers of 'portraying him as a villain' on the hit E4 series. Along with his 'ex wife' performing arts teacher Shona, 31, the pair were axed from the show following Brad’s “controlling and coercive” behaviour.

Producers of the programme became concerned by Brad's actions towards Shona, after some tense scenes, including one which appeared to show Brad telling Shona to "shut up." But now the model, 27, has spoken out about how "deeply unhappy" he was during filming of the show and slammed producers for "portraying him as a villain" as the main narrative.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Brad believes scenes of the former couple 'laughing' and 'joking' failed to make the cut. He said: "All they've shown is me and Shona all over each other physically or arguing, what an anti-climax that is but it's also great TV.That aside, we had some great laughs, we had some great conversations, we were really connecting.There was a lot more depth there. "But the narrative they wanted to play was if you jump too quickly into something this is how hard it crashes and you've got the experts there who give their guidance, that's all part of that narrative. "I've been portrayed as an absolute villain." A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "Married at First Sight UK episodes are carefully put together and we ensure that what we broadcast is a fair and accurate reflection of the events that unfolded." Following his exit from the show, Brad recently revealed that he 'wasn't in love with Shona'.

Shona told her followers there were "major highs" in her relationship with Brad, and they weren't shown in the show's edits, but she also claimed that "most of Bradley's inexcusable behaviour happened off.
