Love Island fans have taken to Twitter to share that they're already somewhat annoyed by new islander Mehdi Edno constantly saying 'oh la la la.' Posting to Twitter one fan wrote: "Mehdi has been here for about 15 seconds and has said ooh la la about 20 times #LoveIsland" as another quipped: "Mehdi, you’ve got one more Ooh La La before you need to wrap it up #LoveIsland." "Mehdi try not to say ooh la la challenge(impossible) #LoveIsland" added a a third.

While others suggested making it into a drinking game, as one joked: "take a shot ever time Medhi says ooh la la #LoveIsland." And while some found the remark annoying, others seemed to be enjoying it, with one viewer tweeting: "MY GUY SAID OOH LA LA BLESS HIMMM #LoveIsland." A second fan wrote: "Ooh la la” [French flag emoji] nah I actually love him #LoveIsland." The first episode of Love Island saw Mehdi get coupled with Ruchie Gurung after the public voted on the show's first couples.

Speaking to press, including OK! ahead of his entry into the villa, Mehdi opened up about applying to the hit ITV2 dating series, admitting his parents were initially "a little bit worried" about it.

He said: "At the start, my parents were in the beginning a little bit worried because this is not something they know. "But honestly, I have the most supportive parents and friends - they are rooting for me.They just want me to win now and find love!" Talking further about his friends' reaction to getting on Love Island, he added: "They couldn't believe it at first because, you know, it's a big show. "And obviously, I'm not from the UK, I come from France.
