This March saw Veeze pull another viral hit out of thin air with “GOMD.” The Detroit rapper hasn’t released a substantial project since his 2019 debut album, Navy Wavy, but he’s managed to maintain an avid fan base nonetheless — defying the laws of gravity, as The FADER’s Jordan Darville wrote in the track’s Song You Need writeup, to remain “eternally appealing.” He’s a rapper’s rapper, but a large part of his appeal is how casually he releases, living a relatively normal life in the meantime. (Look no further than his Twitter for proof of his astute everyman sensibilities.) Today (May 10), Veeze has struck without warning again, adding Lil Uzi Vert to the already elite cut.

Uzi leads off the “GOMD” remix with nearly two minutes of uncharacteristically even-toned rapping, the light AutoTune on his vocals only apparent in rare moments of a cappella emphasis.

It’s a welcome addition to the track from another emcee emphatically committed to doing what he wants. Listen below. Read Next: Lil Uzi Vert appears on new song with electronic duo Snow Strippers.
