Furious residents of a Lanarkshire town have told council chiefs to get their skates on when it comes to gritting the area - after saying their town was like an ice rink during last week's big freeze.
Plunging temperatures saw numerous homes and businesses in Rutherglen affected by frozen pipes and broken boilers, while events such as green group Grow 73's festive sing-a-long in Overtoun Park had to be scrapped.
However a number of locals were left concerned over the state of busy streets such as Rutherglen Main Street and Mill Street, which were covered with ice.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
