A global takeover is much easier when people can understand what you're talking about. Central Cee is the West London rapper with a viral hit in "Doja," a Song You Need when it dropped back in July, and naturally, his raps rely a lot on slang from his homeland of the United Kingdom.
In a (to be honest, impressively sly) bid to keep the crossover success going, Central Cee dropped by the L.A. Leakers on Tuesday (September 7) for a freestyle that was packed with slang definitions that will surely be helpful for his many new fans.
Central Cee jumps onto the beat by acknowledging his recent elevation as a U.K. rapper to watch ("They think I'm the one to bridge the gap") and celebrating his trip to Los Angeles.
Then, he dives into spelling out his jargon for listeners across the pond. For example: "You say 'The feds just done a sweep,' we say 'The bwoy dem run in my gaff.'" (side note: former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently took part with police in an early morning drug raid and was filmed by the highly amused occupant of the raided apartment.) The freestyle goes on like that for nearly four minutes, so there's plenty here to study in case of Central Cee's planned takeover of the United States.
