Lee Mack revealed people refuse to believe he met his wife Tara before finding fame and fortune because she's so stunning. The comedian, 53, who shot to fame after winning So You Think You're Funny at the 1995 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, admitted people thought his wife was attracted to his fame instead of who he is.
The couple first met in 1996 at university before eventually tying the knot in 2005, they also share three children together: Arlie, Louie and Millie.Recalling a conversation with a fellow comedian, Lee revealed the brutal dig where he was asked if he had done something heroic for Tara to get her to go out with him, reports the Mirror.
Lee said during a podcast interview in 2021: "We talked the other day with Roisin Conaty. Her sister met Tara and said 'I assume you two have been together after you became a comedian and a bit of money'. "And I said 'no, no, we met before I ever was a comedian when we were at university'."And she looked aghast at why this woman would be with me.
And do you know what she said? 'Did you save her life or something'?He added: "I thought 'that's an incredibly bold statement to make after five minutes of meeting someone'."The comedian is best known for his roles as a team captain on the BBC comedy panel show Would I Lie To You?
