Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Lara Cohen, after exiting Elon Musk’s Twitter last fall, is joining Linktree as VP of partners and business development.

At Linktree, Cohen will oversee business development, strategic partnerships with tech platforms and the company’s community of creators across entertainment, music and other verticals.

She reports to Linktree president Mike Olson. Cohen previously was Twitter’s global VP of partners and marketing, in charge of the group that worked to support celebrities and influencers on the platform.

While at Twitter, she led activations including the iconic Ellen DeGeneres selfie at the 2014 Oscars and the #TweetItInto existence campaign.

It’s the first song to come out under Strings’ new deal with Reprise Records, after a long run with Rounder. The music video portrays the two collaborators and band members recording their parts individually, although a framing device has Strings getting on a bus — presumably Nelson’s — that is emitting a prolific amount of smoke by the time he exits at the end. On Tuesday, the billionaire owner of Twitter tweeted, “Final date for removing legacy Blue checks is 4/20.” Musk is notorious for his love of memes and jokes, including those involving 420 (i.e., the unofficial day/time for toking up). So it’s not fully clear if April 20 is actually the cutoff date for revoking verification from accounts unless they’ve signed up for a Twitter Blue subscription. Twitter previously announced that starting April 1, it would begin removing the blue check-mark badges from legacy verified accounts — those which the company had previously deemed to be notable and/or authentic — unless users have signed up for the Twitter Blue subscription service, which starts at $8 per month. That doesn’t appear to have begun in a widespread way at this point.
