Rutherglen Glencairn 'back in relegation trouble' admits boss

Willie Harvey has warned his Rutherglen Glencairn side they have landed themselves back in West of Scotland First Division relegation trouble.But he’s not pressing the panic button, and firmly believes they’re good enough to get themselves away from the three-team drop-zone.Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at St Roch’s has left Glens four points above 14th-placed Cumbernauld United, but with two games in hand.Glencairn are also one of four clubs who are on 28 points, with a single win potentially taking them from 13th to ninth.But Harvey says the Scottish Junior Cup finalists will have to work hard to get themselves back up the league table, starting at home to fifth-placed Drumchapel United on Saturday.He said: “Drumchapel are fighting for promotion, we’re fighting to stay in the league – that was pointed out to the players after the game.“They’re now dropped themselves right into the relegation mix, so they need to forget about everything else that’s happening round about the club and just concentrate on getting the points on board.“We’ve got a couple of games in hand over some teams and we should be okay.“I’m not pressing panic buttons or anything like that, I’m not at the stage where I’m thinking ‘Jeezo, we’re in trouble here’ because I do know that we are capable of pulling ourselves away.“Two wins and you’re away up the league again.“If we win one game I think there are about four teams we’ll jump ahead of in one go.“It’s not insurmountable.
