Lance Bass Reveals Updated Diabetes Diagnosis, Says It's a 'Plot Twist'
justjared.comLance Bass opened up about a “plot twist” in his diabetes diagnosis. The 46-year-old member of the Backstreet Boys was diagnosed with the disease during the pandemic and was told that he had Type 2.
However, he recently learned that he actually had a different type of the illness and shared what that meant. Keep reading to find out more… On Instagram, Lance shared a video advertising for a type of glucose monitor. “As all of you know, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a few years back,” he shared. “But when I was first diagnosed, I had a difficult time getting my glucose levels under control even though I made adjustments to my diet, medication and my workout routine.” Lance continued, saying, “I recently discovered that I was misdiagnosed.
I actually have Type 1.5, or latent autoimmune diabetes of adults.” According to reporting by People, Type 1.5 diabetes is something that “lean and physically active” patients over the age of 30 might have when they’re incorrectly diagnosed with Type 2.
